VESPA Evening Seminar on March 29, 2019 in Zurich

Traditionally, the VESPA (Verband der freiberuflichen Europäischen und Schweizer Patentanwälte, Association des conseils en brevets suisses et européens de profession libérale)1 invites its members in early spring to its annual evening seminar with Dr. Tobias Bremi, permanent judge at the Federal Patent Court. Tobias Bremi provided intriguing highlights of last year’s decisions of the Swiss Federal Patent Court (FPC), as well as selected second instance decisions of the Federal Supreme Court.

Tobias Bremi commenced his talk with an overview of the court year 2018 at the FPC. Representing a crucial industrial sector in Switzerland, it is not surprising that the majority of the cases in both ordinary and summary proceedings concern the pharmaceutical industry, which is also responsible for most of the filed protective letters.
